Our mission & vision

BATHO LE DITSATLHOLEGO CONSERVATION TRUST (BLDCT) is a non-profit organization that aims to develop the knowledge, skills, and understanding youth need to become effective leaders within culturally diverse business communities. Sustainable tourism sector shall be the main focus so as to improve livelihoods in the villages of Goo-Tau, Goo-Sekgweng and Manaledi. The trust is headquartered in Goo-Tau village. As time goes on, BLDCT shall spread its wings across Botswana as it expands its services

OBJECTS OF THE TRUST, but not limited to..

 

To promote and facilitate community based Natural Resources Management concepts in the district under BATHO LE DITSATLHOLEGO CONSERVATION TRUST as follows:

 

3.1 To Organize sustainable activities that promote education, conservation, rehabilitation and the protection of wildlife.

 

3.2 To promote the care of Cape vultures and other animals in need, as well as the prevention of ill-treatment.

 

3.3 To Engaging out-of-school youth, orphaned and vulnerable children and farmers in environmental conservation education and training.

 

3.4 To facilitating research and educational projects on flora and fauna.

 

3.5 To facilitating non-consumptive training for unemployed youth to find work that will sustainably improve their livelihoods.

 

3.6 To Engage with other local, regional and international organizations in organizing educational programs for young children, out of school youth and farmers.

 

 

3.7 To Building an education center partnered with a mini park that has various wildlife species.

 

3.8 To Promoting awareness on sustainable use and conservation of vegetation. E.g. mopane tree.

 

3.9 To seek and accept any donation for the benefits of the beneficiaries within and anywhere outside the Republic of Botswana.

 

3.10 Invest in any lawful business to propagate and enclave the interests of its beneficiaries.

3.11 To provide accommodation to tourists and other road users along the Martin’s Drift Highway thus generating revenue for the trust and the communities.

 

 

3.12 To promote and facilitate active community participation in Natural Resources Management and conservation.

 

3.13 To promote culture through traditional dance events and through information dissemination.

 

3.14 To link conservation based natural resources management within the area to the improvement of livelihoods and development for members of the trust and residents of the beneficiaries generally and to facilitate tourism activities.
